Our Team
Amy D. Pellerin, LNHA
Administrator
Amy Pellerin brings more than 27 years of experience as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She began her career as a Therapeutic Recreation Director, overseeing three facilities in Manchester, before moving into administrative leadership. Amy spent 18 years with Apple Rehab, where she served as both Administrator and Regional Vice President. She later joined Masonicare, overseeing the largest nursing home in the state, along with the residential care home, GI Clinic, pharmacy, Hearing Clinic, and outpatient therapy services. Most recently, Amy held administrator roles with Care-One in Southbury and at Avon Health Center. A proud graduate of the University of Connecticut, Amy earned her undergraduate degree and completed postgraduate work there to obtain her Nursing Home Administrator’s License. She is dedicated to leading with compassion, professionalism, and a strong commitment to quality care.
Raquel F. Hyman, RN, MSN
Director of Nursing
Registered Nurse with over 13 years of clinical experience in long-term care at Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Employed in 2010 as CNA, and has since served in roles as a LPN charge nurse, Wound Care Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing and Staff Development Coordinator at Vernon Rehab and Healthcare. Earned Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management (BS), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Capella University.
Kristie Ricker
Director of Admissions
Kristie’s love for healthcare started when she became a CNA in 2006. After working as a CNA in her home state of New Hampshire, Kristie moved to CT to pursue new adventures.
Naturally, Kristie found a position as a certified aide at our facility and immediately fit right in, with her infectious laugh, devoted work ethic and bubbly personality. Since her start at Vernon Rehab Kristie has successfully promoted from CNA. to Nursing Department Scheduler. During her time as the Nursing Scheduler, Kristie pursued her passion for the nursing profession and enrolled in nursing school, all while starting a new family with a marriage and a new baby girl!
Kristie’s most recent promotion to the Admission Coordinator encompass all her abilities into one role. Kristie’s warm, welcoming nature along with her nursing and CNA experience will help in admitting residents into our facility, successfully transitioning them from the community to our facility.
Rebecca Huri
Director of Administrative Services
Rebecca Huri is the Director of Administrative Services at Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Rebecca is a dedicated employee with over 19 years of experience at the company. Prior to her role as Director of Administrative Services, Rebecca worked in the nursing department as the nursing staffing coordinator for several years. Rebecca also worked for years in the Admissions department and the Administrative Assistant role, assisting in several large projects to include the Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Connecticut State University.
Sue York
Activity Director
As an Activity Director with more than 16 years of experience, Sue creates meaningful and unique programs for Seniors with various interests and backgrounds. Skilled at creating fun and interactive programs, themed special events, enjoyable out-trips, and family appreciation events. With a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern CT State University, Sue combines knowledge with experience to maximize resident’s healthy lifestyle and social engagement. Previously, she worked in an Assisted Living Community at The Hearth at Glastonbury, CT. providing specialty programs for Seniors in AL setting as well as the Memory care community for Seniors with Dementia. She has 10 years’ experience as a Director of Therapeutic Recreation, managing and mentoring staff.
Amanda Hardy
Regional Manager of Admissions and Marketing
Amanda comes to Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center with over 16 years of experience working in skilled nursing. She holds a BS in Physical and Health Education, as well as TRD. Prior to her role as Director of Admission, Amanda was a Therapeutic Recreation Director for 10 years. She enjoys working closely with families, hospitals, and physicians to ensure a smooth transition to the facility. We offer short term rehab, long term care, and respite.
